SIGNS                          

Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:     KJV

Signs… Right out of the gate of GOD’S creation we immediately see that through GOD’S word that everything in the beginning that HE has made is also going to be used for signs…

Jesus said of the fig tree…

Mark 13:28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.     KJV

Matthew also recorded this which we see in Matthew 24… Again, its signs… The question of the disciples was… Matthew 24:3… (in part): What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?     KJV

Again, the question has to do with a (sign…)

Paul records for us and he also gives us signs…

2 Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.     KJV

These signs are not so much that has to do with nature, and events of the earth, but this time Paul gives signs of attitudes, and spirits that pertain to the heart of man… (PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME…) Paul is saying of these signs they are yet ahead… These signs are future and these signs will be seen because the last day (DANGEROUS TIMES SHALL COME), the English bible uses the word (FOR) but this word also means (BECAUSE OF)… The Strong’s renders the word (FOR/ BECAUSE OF) as the (REASON…) DANGEROUS times that Paul said are going to come and will be seen from man… (etc.) Again signs…

 

Phil 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.     KJV

Again, its signs… How can we tell we are in the last days??? GOD has given us (SIGNS…)

Another sign… 2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,    KJV

Again, another sign that there will be a world whose every focus is on self… And they will scoff… They will jeer, make fun or light of… But GOD says this will be just another (SIGN…)

2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.     KJV

Peter includes Paul’s epistles in the subject matter at hand, which is the day of GOD… But notice, speaking of these things; (SIGNS) in which are some things hard to be understood, (WHAT THINGS??? SIGNS GIVEN FROM THE WORD OF GOD…) The unlearned and the unstable wrest; (THIS WORD “WREST—MEANS TO TWIST, OR PERVERT…) unto their own destruction.

Again, the subject matter is (SIGNS…) Can we say that all these things that we are seeing and witnessing in our present world, to such extremes, that these are SIGNS???

I know there be perhaps some that will read this and they will have the thought… “I have heard this preached all my life…” “There have always been earthquakes…” “There has always been hurricanes and natural disasters…” Or this one, “it’s only been just in the last century that we have been able to measure and keep an accurate count of these natural disasters…”

If this is you, may I ask??? Are you wresting the word to give explanation to what is happening in our world??? These are (SIGNS…) We are living in (DANGEROUS TIMES…)

GOD CALLED OUT NOAH…

Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.    KJV

WHY DID GOD DESTROY THEM UPON THE EARTH??? THE EARTH WAS FILLED WITH VIOLENCE… THERE WERE SIGNS AND IT WAS NOAH THAT DISCERNED THE SIGNS, and was prepared…

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.    KJV

SIGNS… Are we there yet??? Do we see the signs???
